The premier edition of the Lagos State Spelling Bee Competition for Private Schools which was sponsored by MTN mPulse came to an exciting end on Tuesday, November 19, after months of intense spelling battle. The competition which began in July featured 70 schools and over 1000 students from private primary and secondary schools in Lagos. The grand finale was keenly contested among the 31 candidates representing their various schools with Ifeoluwa Adeola Ademuwa, an SS2 student of Chrisfield College Ikorodu emerging the overall winner. Ifeoluwa won the grand prize of being the first kid CEO of MTN Nigeria and was also awarded N500,000 cheque. Grace Temiloluwa Joseph from Wellspring College was the 1st runner up and she was awarded N300,000 ; Ibrahim Olutoki representing Monidams Private School was the 2nd runner up and received N200,000 prize; The 3rd runner up Chukwufumnanya Okonweze from Cayley College won N100,000 while the fifth place winner from Longford International School, Tunde Lawal Toluwalase also got N100,000.
