In commemoration of the International Day of the Girl Child, MTN mPulse organized an online essay competition on ways the Nigerian girl can be empowered to become unstoppable. The competition, which was open to boys and girls in primary and secondary schools in Nigeria, ran from 25th September – 8th October and received lots of impressive essay entries from over 450 students from public and private schools all over Nigeria. 12 winners emerged eventually with Christianah Akinlaja of Fakunle Unity Government High School Oshbogbo taking 1st position and winning the coveted MTN mPulse trophy, smart phone and other mPulse goodies; Onaopemipo Opeodu of Oritamefa Baptist Model School Ibadan placed 2nd, while Michael Ushahembe of Mt St Gabriels Secondary School Makurdi emerged 3rd.Click here to view entire list of winners.
