My Experience at the MTN mPulse Spelling Bee - Oguntoyinbo Enitan

The first time I proceeded to the national stage of any spelling bee after months of studying and training was the time I got the opportunity to participate in the MTN Mpulse Spelling Bee which was held in Lagos, at the MTN Golden Plaza.

It all started when my coach Mr. Gbenga Julius introduced MTN spelling bee to me. I participated in the first round and I was one of those who proceeded to the second round which was an online competition.

Initially, after the second round, I was scared because I thought my mark would not be accepted. After all, three other spellers had seen the congratulatory message to proceed to the grand finale and I was yet to be sent a message but glory be to God Almighty I was sent the message and I was also ecstatic to have been among the spellers chosen.

I was glad to have been one of the spellers representing Ekiti state. We made our journey to Lagos safely where we stayed in the hotel which had been booked for both spellers and coaches.

When the big day arrived I was set and ready to head out to the MTN Golden Plaza. I was a bit nervous but with encouraging smiles and talks from people, I was calmed down. All my efforts of studying finally put into place, I was happy to have been able to win myself a two hundred thousand scholarship grant as the fourth position and other goodies.

In conclusion, I thank MTN for allowing me and other spellers to participate in the competition. MTN made me feel a sense of accomplishment because thousands of Nigerians participated in this competition and only twenty spellers made it to the grand finale in which I was one of them
